Arby wrote:Well Kris you should give it a go. And the money is always good. But SC and FK don't publish seen before work. That is one attraction for SBMKris wrote:Well done ladies... I have not ever entered anything to get published - too scared!! ha ha ha
So Arby does that mean, that if you have already put it on your blog, or into a forum gallery you can not enter them??

Re: SC issue 64
I have always subed them my work that I have put up in galleries and on my blog, you just have to either take it down or cover the LO up when they say they want it. Which reminds me, Tina, one of my LOs in this gallery has been accepted, and I have no idea how to remove it..........
Re: SC issue 64
thanks , yeh i am definately giving up submitting to sbm, its not a good feeling being rejected over and over, however i know my husband really admires my work and i hope my son will in the future so thats the most important thing

Re: SC issue 64
In SC it has previously unpublished but I suppose what they mean is not published in a mag... I must have read it to mean somthing else. And all this time I have not been subbing them to SC and FK!!!!

Re: SC issue 64
Congratulations Arby, Anthea and Kim for getting pubbed in this issue. Have to look out for that one. I've just bought the latest SC yesterday which has Arby and Anthea in it I think but haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
I've subbed a couple now to SC but no luck yet.

Re: SC issue 64
a. THE WORK will be the original creation of THE ARTISAN, being specially designed and made for THE TITLE, and not having appeared in any other form, including not having been previously published in any guise, used in a pattern pack or starter kit, exhibited at any public showing or used as a teaching project in any form of class.
This is one of the clauses in the contract for SC... So this is why I thought that they were not allowed to be seen anywhere else...

Re: SC issue 64
hehehe, just to jump into this old convo. I'm going to be in this issue too (SC 64) and everything that they have picked up from me has been on my blog or in a gallery, that is unless they have asked me for a LO or Article.

Re: SC issue 64
hey when you sub, do you type a long letter with the email telling them about yourself, how long you have been scrapping etc, and stuff about the layout??? i have tried a few times, and put in a bit about myself and the layout, but have had no luck so far with any of the mags..
i wonder what they look for in a layout too, as i have seen some in the mags that i just think 'now how did they get in there??'
anyway i will keep trying!!
good luck to us all!!

Re: SC issue 64
I say nothing about me or the LO.
I think others say stuff but I never bother.
And yes I know what you mean about things that get in. I have thought that about some of the stuff they have published of mine!!

Re: SC issue 64
Lis... They don't love much of it!! Now if you want to see work they love have a look at Buzzy. She is afterall a current Awards for Excellence Winner!! Me I only got a lowly HM for Masters...
Anyway I think that if you keep subbing and do WHAT YOU LOVE then they will see that in your work and you will eventually get looked at. Or you can do what I do... bombard them with so much they publish you just to shut you up!!!

Re: SC issue 64
yep thats what i think (bombarding should work),
i can't scrap much lately we are renovating our house and ALL my scrapping stuff is packed in boxes the room should be painted in the next week or two (that will make it one room down and 7 to go), we are literally living in a reno at the moment, least i'll have some thing to scrap cant wait

Re: SC issue 64
We just finished Renos and I can totally get where you are coming from... We are waiting for the painter to finish painting but he is so busy I can't pin him down..... Oh by the way the painter is my DH.. They say mechanics have the worst cars.. Well painters have the worst houses.
